Happy Monday & welcome back to our Employee Spotlight series where we ask our employees what their life is like inside and outside emagine. We want to give you the ability to hear a little more personal side from employees in varying roles at our company, not just what you read from their blog posts.
This month we are excited to feature Claudia Peart, a member of our Business Development team for 6 years!
1. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was very young I thought I wanted to be a lawyer. It seemed so cool to defend people in court and win cases. That all changed as I got older and realized it can be a very frustrating career choice and life just took me in a different direction.
2. In your own words, what is your job description?
My role in business development is to identify and research companies that would be a good fit with emagine. I then build and nurture a relationship with the company and get them familiar with our services and talent, potentially leading to a contract.
3. What is your favorite aspect of your job?
First, working with an excellent team and also the ability to connect with many different people and learning about their business.
4. What is your favorite project/event you’ve worked on? Why?
One of my favorite website projects I’ve seen the emagine team complete is the one we did for Special Olympics of Massachusetts. Not only is it a great looking site, but the emagine team donated the site to Special Olympics. We also just recently had the opportunity to volunteer at one of their events which was awesome to be apart of!
5. What advice do you have for someone looking to pursue a career in your industry?
My advice would be to learn to love talking on the phone as most of your days will be spent on it talking with many different people and personalities. You also need to have the patience and perseverance for a “yes”.
6. When you’re not working, what are you most likely doing?
When I’m not working, I love to stay healthy by being outdoors and going to the gym. I also love spending time with my husband and two daughters and time with my friends.
7. Do you have any “hidden talents”?
I love cooking and baking with old family recipes. Some of my favorites are from my Italian grandmother, such as Chicken Cacciatore, Baked Ziti and Peach Pie.
