Gilbane, a builder and developer of some of the most highly visible projects domestically and internationally, is one of the largest privately held family-owned construction and real estate development, investment and property management firms in the industry.
Gilbane Building Company’s website redesign was initiated in conjunction with their Corporate re-branding and business growth plan.
They needed an online presence that would unite and accurately represent the three entities of the Gilbane family – Gilbane Corporation, Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company.
Gilbane maintains an established global presence, but the segmentation between markets, locations and services wasn’t conducive to a seamless experience for the user.
A full-scale redesign and rebuild for Gilbane included:
- Mapping information architecture and page flow
- Web design that accurately represented Gilbane’s expertise and global presence
- Creation of a focused keyword strategy
- Rebuild on a CMS that empowered the Sales and Marketing teams
The new homepage serves as an entryway to feature the Gilbane entities and give visitors an understanding of the comprehensive expertise Gilbane offers. Realistic imagery was incorporated to separate Gilbane from competitors.
The new site positions Gilbane as a global powerhouse while upholding family-owned values and a focus on highlighting significant accomplishments, showcasing projects beyond the high-profile ones, sharing stories of their employees and communities they serve.
Last but certainly not least, to improve visibility in search engines all targeted keywords have a logical place to live on the new website – whether in the main navigation or on interior pages. Our optimization approach also ensured the site wouldn’t lose ranking power or momentum.
