eMagine has always prided itself in being a philanthropically-focused company, making sure we give back to the community in the best way we know how — namely website design. This year, our designers, programmers, content implementers and project managers donated their time towards the creation of a new website for Special Olympics in Massachusetts, eMagine’s home state.

“Much credit is due to our amazing partners at eMagine, who’ve not only donated their time and money, but who’s staff deserve medals in their own right for their patience, support, and guidance throughout this past year’s development”, said Chris Richie, Communications Manager for Special Olympics Massachusetts. “The form, function and overall feel are incredible. Search the web, I defy you to find a more streamlined, elegant Special Olympics website anywhere. This is a 2013 web experience, and we’ve not even begun to tap into all the functionality it has to provide us in the future!”

Over the years, the Special Olympics website had grown into a database of more than 1,00 pages, and had outgrown its existing content management system (CMS). With the goal of adding value to their members, Special Olympics worked with eMagine to capture the interest of its diverse audience, from board members to supports, staff,  athletes and volunteers. The goal was to create a new and fresh navigation and message,  integrate the environment for both the internal and external population, and to provide flexibility for any improvements and updates to the website in the future, all while maintaining the existing website functionality.

“The form, function and overall feel is incredible,” says Richie. “Search the web, I defy you to find a more streamlined, elegant Special Olympics website anywhere. This is a 2013 web experience, and we’ve not even begun to tap into all the functionality it has to provide us in the future.”
